Soap - Aleppo Inspired
Aleppo soap is named after the city in Syria where it was first made. It is said to have existed well before the 8th century. The city of Aleppo lies in the northwest corner of Syria, and for centuries was a trade center for China , Africa, and Europe. Aleppo soap is a hard soap comprised of olive oil and its unique ingredient, laurel oil. Laurel trees are what produce bay leaves, by the way. Because of the high content of olive oil in this soap, it is best to let dry between baths or showers. You can find soap dishes suitable for this on this site. Aleppo soap retains the natural woodsy scent and color from the laurel berry oil. It requires a six month cure to be at it's best. Our soap is made from olive oil pomace and 22% laurel berry oil with no additives or additional scents or fragrances. Why ruin a good thing?
